CONFERENCE OVERVIEW
Biannual Conference
Melbourne
2nd & 3rd October 2009
Culture - Diversity - Leadership
Dear Colleagues,
The WGIA Biannual Conference "Culture, Diversity, Leadership" recently was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. There was deep learning, fun connecting, opportunities for growth and belly dancing to boot!
My sincere and heartfelt appreciation and acknowledgement to Frances Browne, our conference convenor, whom with her time and devotion managed to pull together a successful conference. From the moment you received the personally painted conference bags (hand painted by ' friends' children and Year 5/6 students at in White Hills), you knew you were in for a special time. The care and attention to detail and attending to people's needs was extra-ordinary.
To Paula, Danielle and Yolande our highly competent Administrative assistants: They ensured that important tasks were completed in a timely manner, responded eloquently to people's queries and suggestions, attended to critical details and enabled the conference to be planned, prepared and executed with precision and flair.
To the Regional members from , for creating the welcome feel that was evident, for supporting the conference with their attendance and for completing both behind the scenes and 'upfront' tasks to ensure the event ran smoothly and was a quality experience for others, thank you.
Thank you to our keynote speakers. To Doug Walker who displayed and explored Lead management with his guitar and vocals (even the rooster was reality therapy certified). To Bette Blance for an inspiring, thought provoking reflection of her current work in education and the wider community.
The quality of the workshop presenters was exceptional. We do not have a conference without members willing to donate their time and share their knowledge and creativity with us. With such a diverse and high quality of presentations the only issue was deciding which workshop to attend. Thank you to all who shared their journey, exploration and applications of CT/RT/LM.
Thank you to all Board members for supporting the WGI-A Biannual Conference, many decisions are made behind the scenes and this group of dedicated people give of their time on a volunteer basis.
Thank you to all the Instructors that provided quality training pre and post conference, we hope to continue this trend in the future.
To the Novotel and staff, thank you for providing a service with a smile, every time we turned around there was someone to help. Thank you for ensuring that everything ran smoothly.
Thank you must also go to our Institute members. It is our committed members' that enables us to grow as an organisation, provide a better service and spread the word of a better world through quality relationships.
Thank you to those people who have kindly offered to sponsor and convene our next Biannual Conference in , we look forward to connecting on the Western Side of our beautiful country.
With all of the people to thank it just goes to show that, it takes many people to come together to make something as memorable and triumphant as our conference. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did and for those who were unable to attend I hope that you will be able to join us in in 2011.
